It was not so long ago that the British media decided to harshly criticize the Vancouver Winter Olympics.

You may remember such headlines as, "Vancouver Games continue downhill slide from disaster to calamity," from The Guardian. The paper went on to call them the worst in Olympic history.

The head of the Games, John Furlong, fired back at the time suggesting the Brits may not have been attending the same games as everyone else.

And so it is with some interest that we turned our eyes to the unveiling of the London mascots for the 2012 Olympics.
